Narrative art is art that tells a story, either as a moment or as a series of events evolving over time. Some of the earliest evidence of human art such as cave paintings suggests that people told stories with pictures. This element is not necessarily found in portraits, landscapes, or still life paintings. I find that a narrative is engaging because it invites the viewer into the painting to solve a visual puzzle.
